Hey guys!
What's up? Okay I'm so sorry for the 2 week break but I was just feeling really uninspired to anything, to write, to compose to get out of bed.... But I'm back and I'm actually going to tell you guys what brought me out of my slump....running. I'm not even joking.
I've never really run before and to be honest it wasn't an easy thing to get into, but when I got home I felt amazing, like seriously euphoric.
I recently read online that running causes your body to release endorphins, which interact with receptors in your brain reducing your perception of pain. So it basically causes a natural high. Though I don't get as depressed as I used to or suffer from panic attacks as much, I still occasionally go through bouts of them and I'm not going to lie, it sucks. As I'm going to Uni soon I would like to minimise the chances of this happening and whilst looking online for natural prevention aids, I found that exercising outside and a good diet won't completely stop them, but will help reduce their frequency.
So this week, I decided to get up and go running at my local country park and I'm so glad that I did. Studies have shown that spending time in nature improves your body image due to the absence of mirrors and magazines that make you obsess over your appearance. And I do have to say that just running through the park for 45 minutes was enough to make me forget about all the crap going on in my life and just focus on the beauty of nature. When I got back home I felt so good and amazed that though I live super close to the city I also live super close to nature too. Like 5 minutes both ways. It's so easy to escape from the hustle and bustle of the world and just escape to nature. I know not everybody lives near a country park, but regular parks are also a great open space to run in. And if you don't like running you could always walk or bike ride or scooter (people scooter right?), anything that gets you out of bed and into nature.
Here are some pictures I took during my run, I honestly love the country park it's so peaceful yet stunning.
After this week, I'm starting to feel better about things and ready to start updating again, I already have some posts lined up!
To anyone who made it this far, thank you so much and I hope this benefited you in some way. If you have any questions or comments, leave a comments as I reply to basically all of them.
See you next week,
Natalie x
