I'm sorry for being rather absent for a while but getting ready for Uni is super stressful and too much has been happening in my life lately. But now I'm back, ready for a fresh start. So can we start again?
My name is Natalie, I'm 18 and I'm now officially a University student. Shit. Life is happening.
I'm writing this sat in my room at my desk and looking fondly over at my coffee machine which I have come to love dearly :) I also feel like death as I have been struck with freshers flu! Oh the humanity!
It feels like I've been here for an age rather than 5 weeks. The first night is a blur of introductions and drunken "I love yous" as I settled into what was essentially my home for the next 9 months. Everyone I've met so far has been incredibly nice and made me feel a lot less nervous about starting Uni.
My course has been rather full on from the get go, which I enjoy because it forces me to be productive and actually get stuff done rather than procrastinate which is mainly what my summer consisted of. For those of you who don't know I'm studying Music Performance and I'm so excited to be in a creative environment with people who are just as eager to learn as I am. Its been really interesting to actually learn about the music industry rather than just performing and I have just picked my first free module....Music Marketing! I'm honestly so excited for everything that's coming my way. Its only been a few weeks but I feel like I've learnt so much already.
The main thing that's been drummed into our head is that we have to be consistent with our audience in terms of updating social media and uploading videos, something I seem to have a lot of trouble with! Nonetheless I'll be trying to get a schedule going in the near future for this blog and my YouTube channel so stay tuned for that!
For those wondering if I'm going to write an essay about how much I miss home, sorry to disappoint! As I live about 1 and half hours away on the tube, I can honestly say I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. I'm someone who has always craved independence and to me, living in halls is a massive step towards that. Besides I've already been home 4 times so far... xD Living without my family has taught me that I tend to eat A LOT of crap so I'm changing up my diet to include healthier ingredients and less ready meals (so hard I know!) and I'm trying really hard to exercise a bit more...we'll see how long that lasts...
This is a new chapter in my life, a fresh start and I'm excited to share it with you guys. So stay tuned!
Thank you to every single person who read this, if you want to share your uni experiences, leave a comment! I always reply :)
See you next time,
With Love,
Natalie x
